Originally, the Outlast PCM (Phase Change Material) technology was developed for NASA, in order to protect astronauts from temperature fluctuations. Today Outlast materials find a wide range of applications, which include increasing the comfort of clothing, shoes and accessories used by motorbike riders. Breathable Outlast products compensate for temperature fluctuations, and significantly reduce sweating. Outlast products contain Outlast Thermocules. These microcapsules actively adapt to the body climate, reducing overheating and chilling, therefore protecting against sweating and freezing. The process is repeated indefinitely: if it gets too warm, the Outlast Thermocules absorb excess heat, which is returned to the body when needed. This change takes place within a temperature range that corresponds to the ideal skin temperature. The result is a constant micro-climate at the skin, significantly improving the level of wellbeing.

3M Scotchlite consists of a large number of microscopically small, reflective glass beads. The reflective material is visible from a distance of 160 m, which significantly improves the wearer's safety at night. It can be used in visually interesting ways, for instance in the form of emblems or narrow decorative stripes.
