I bought this to solve problems with thread that is damaged, and also to cut fresh thread in new parts I made myself. And I must say this tool is very usefull, but you've got to know how to handle it. I read a lot of bad comments here, but these could be solved. Drill the right hole for the tread, and start with nr 1 cutter and then go on with nr 2 and 3. And VERY IMPORTANT: use cutting oil to lubricate the thread cutter!. Don't go to the end at once, but start cutting about 1cm, go back, add a drop of oil, and then cut another cm. This takes longer of course, but this way you save the thread cutter. Mine is well used for a year, and I have no complaints. Also important: don't cut in steel or RVS. This metal is too hard and will damage the thread cutter. A good mechanic takes care of his tools. They cost money, so use them right.
