    Base Layer Pants, Merino Wool

Motorcycle riding can still be enjoyable in the cold months, but it's highly advisable to protect yourself against single-digit or lower temperatures. The Finns have found merino sheep's wool to be highly effective, so we can warmly recommend rukka Moody thermal base layers. They will keep you warm and dry even in cold winter weather.

This is due to the merino sheep's wool, which is ideal for base layers, unlike most other natural fibres.

    Comfort/features:

    • Very soft
    • Maintains body warmth, even in wet conditions
    • Breathable
    • Dirt-repellent
    • Odour-absorbing
    • Fast-drying
    • Absorbs excess body heat
    • Easy-care
    • Machine-washable
    • Crease-resistant

    Material:

    • 100% wool (merino)

    Good to know:
The secret of merino sheep's wool is the exceptionally fine fibres, which are many times thinner than the wool fibres from other sheep. Its highly "crimped" structure also plays an important part. That's why merino fibres can be used to produce fabrics that are extremely soft to the touch and therefore much more comfortable against the skin. The effect of the crimped structure is to trap air, thereby providing effective thermal insulation, so you stay warm even when the thermometer drops below zero.
Merino wool also has other desirable properties. It's naturally breathable, dirt-repellent, odour-absorbing and fast-drying. Merino wool is also able to absorb moisture almost equivalent to its own dry weight without feeling damp or losing its thermal insulation effect, in contrast to cotton, for example. All these properties make it ideal for base layers.
