Engine speed sensor/ignition signal pickup unit
On CDI (capacitor discharge) ignitions, or other ignition systems with a problematic signal level, this signal pick-up usually provides a way to operate the tachometer on the motogadget instruments. The sensor detects the signal, without contact, in the high-voltage cables, and is therefore independent of the ignition type.
