• Why uses a lumbar support?

Our vertebral column, or spine, has a natural forward curvature, which creates the hollow shape of our lower back, or lumbar region. The abdominal muscles give the lumbar spine support, but if these muscles become slack or tired, the spine starts to acquire a backward curvature instead. If you remain in this posture for a prolonged period, the muscles shorten, which causes them to tense up with the result that you get discomfort
in your lower back.
